I’m sitting here talking to a friend about how people never talk during instant messages, or texts ect ect. Sure you say hi, your friend responds hi, sup, nmu, nothing really. Then there’s a pause for a while, then someone says something like I’m watching the baseball game or maybe even a question like did you hear about the Red Sox last night? But all and all its not that much of an exciting conversation. For my friend and I its completely different. Ours goes like hey, hey, sup, hoping it doesnt rain again, O I know its been raining like crazy last night I woke up because of the thunderstorm, ya me to its not that I hate rain but weve had so much of it ect ect you get the point. Idk if its just me but I want an instant message convo to be like a real life conversation. I always bug people about that. Here are 10 ways that I’ve found that makes an aim convo or a texting convo more lively.
1. When someone asks you how your doing NEVER EVER EVER say nm(nothing much). Your doing a million things every second! All you gotta do is pick one thing to say. All you have to say is “listening to a song called Good Girls Go Bad.
2. Add Detail. Saying “Listening to Good Girls Go Bad” is good but instead answer why your listening to it. “Im listening to Good Girls Go Bad because I heard it on the radio a couple days ago. I searched it on google and bought it a couple minutes ago.
3. Ask a question to keep the conversation going. Like After saying I searched it on google and bought it a couple minutes ago say What songs have you heard on the radio you had to buy?
4. Avoid the pause! You know that pause you get after you stop talking about something? When that happens talk about something you did a couple days ago or something your doing new now. “I went to the Patriots game a couple days ago” or “I’m on Facebook looking at my friends profiles.”
5. Gary Vaynerchuk said at a Web 2.0 speech “Listening to your users is important, but giving a shit about your users WAY BETTER! People listen but they don’t do anything!” Talk to the people you wanna talk to! Don’t say Hi to everyone on your buddy list. If someone says hi to you sure say hi back but don’t talk to everyone.
I was thinking about the post I wrote about good apps for the iPhone and itouch and I thought I was missing some big ones. I actually downloaded the Wordpress app today and I had my doubts. Turned out to be great. If you have a wordpress blog search Wordpress in the app store. Another huge one is either Fox Sports or CBS Sports. I perfer Fox. You can get scores, standings, stats, news feed, and 5 most popular fox.com videos for each sport. I havnt checked out CBS Sports but people say it’s good so Id say either one is a good choice. Also I use Howcast a lot. It shows videos on how to do things like how to build a card tower. It’s useful and it’s shown on tv so it’s pretty good. Last app I wanna mention is wikipanion. I’m a huge wikipedia fan and this is wihout question the best wikipedia app out there. You can search wikipedia with ease. I tried the wikitap app and it wasn’t good to me. Not enough wikipedia more of other sources. So these are some apps you might want for your itouch and iPhone.
April 16th 2007 two separate shooting occurred two hours apart at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The shooter, Seung-Hui Cho, killed 32 people and wounded more. After doing so, Cho commited suicide. This massacre is the deadliest shooting by one man in United States History. Seung-Hui Cho was caught stalking two girls and was declared mentally ill by a Virginia special justice. I don’t know if he was but this kid should have been watched over carefully. This incident could have been avoided. It still is a horrifying tragedy. Today nobody in my town really cared about it. It wasn’t on the radio, wasnt mentioned in school. When I told someone about it thye said to me no one cares but you. I wrote this to show that people do care and to honor those 32 students and faculty members who lost their lives. Rest In Peace.
You know whats amazing? The economy and its crashing is a big impact on our society. Yet half the people know what it is. Theres a difference of people who don’t know and who want to know. Theres plenty of people who know whats going on in our economy right now. Theres a lot of people who don’t care either. America needs to wake up and see whats happening.
